Wtransnet Foundation, awarded for its project “Solidarity Truck”

Wtransnet Foundation has been awarded the 2013 Chamber Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Terrassa, for the development and promotion of Transport Solidarity Campaign.
The project, launched in January 2012 by the Foundation in collaboration with the Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentos (FESBAL) has created an exclusive freight exchange for the transport management of the food between donor companies and food banks, for free and with the active involvement of the Transport and Logistics sector in Spain.
The hauliers interested in the collaboration should only be registered on the FESBAL exchange, where they will see all the freights available and will be able to offer the free spaces of their trucks.

Now there are more than 50 transport companies joining the project with the sticker in their trucks identifying as volunteer trucks.
The last challenge realized by the “Solidarity Truck” has been the transportation of 192 tonnes of bananas with destination Seville and Madrid for free by the companies Disfrimur, Transportes Caudete and STEF IBERIA.
