With nearly 400 attendees and 3.040 interprofessional interviews, the IV International Meeting of Transport Professionals, sponsored by the Wtransnet Foundation, was again a success.
European transport and logistics companies of 10 different countries met last October 18th in Madrid to know each other, exchange business cards and lay the foundation for future business relationships through the well-known speed networking rounds, organized according to their routes, specialities and interests.
As a major novelty of this edition, there was the space called “Networking Cargo Area” for private interviews, previously arranged between carriers and companies offering freights or logistics operators. In just one morning 540 interviews were carried out.
For many companies this was their “first WConnecta” and some countries such as Belgium also premiered this year. Others, already veterans from the First Meeting in 2012 and satisfied with the results, came for searching new contacts. The commercial opportunities that are opened after a WConnecta are most valued by the attendees. In just a single morning, the companies perform the commercial work that they would carry out in several months and also they do so in an environment of trust with associates to Wtransnet previously filtered.
It was a great opportunity to meet new potential partners … and the results were very fast, said Carlos Aranibar from Hellmann Worldwide Logistics GmbH & Co. KG.
But beyond what is strictly professional, WConnecta is a meeting that brings people together. There were touching situations such as the one between two hauliers merging into a hug after 25 years working together without having seen before. This is only possible in WConnecta and this is what makes it into something different.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards to companies that have collaborated with the Supported Transport project, organized by the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) and the Wtransnet Foundation. Also, the international Wtransnet companies pioneer in their respective countries, were recognized.
It must be pointed out the support of sponsors, associations and entities related to transportation, without which WConnecta would not be possible. This success has undoubtedly placed WConnecta between one of the unavoidable appointments for the professionals of the transport industry and sets the bar very high for the 5th edition that will be held in Barcelona next fall.
