MORY DUCROS signs a contract with Wtransnet for the qualification of their transport suppliers through the Doc & Data tool. This two-year contract will enable the group to know better their carriers. Double profitability: to foster loyalty to their suppliers and optimize their services.
The group MORY DUCROS has relied on Wtransnet by signing a two-year contract for the DOC & DATA application (adapted and customized for the specific needs of the group MORY DUCROS following the reflection and some specifications established by Olivier ZIMELIOVITCH and Jean-Marc FACCHINI, Manager and Operations Manager respectively of the group MORY DUCROS and named QUALIF DIRECT) and its service of qualification process. The aim is qualifying 12.000 suppliers from the international database of the group, i.e. get all operational data from their suppliers: certifications, fleet (type and specialty), routes … A centralized information on the DIRECT QUALIF and available to all MORY DUCROS agencies. The purpose of this tool: propose safer solutions to their customers and be more efficient over their suppliers whose potential is really identified.
“Today, a carrier is requested, in principle, based on its experience, i.e. the routes that this supplier has already done for the group”, explains Grégory Joubert, Sales Manager of Wtransnet France. “We can call for example a haulier to make a route Lyon-Paris but we may ignore he also makes routes to Barcelona, Belgium and Germany as this data is not in its history. So, the day we need this kind of route, we will not call this carrier. The same happens with suppliers we call for general goods and not for refrigerated goods … as we ignore they have this type of vehicle. The optimization of information will save time to the forwarding agencies and to the Dispatching Department. The product QUALIF DIRECT will also strengthen the network synergies within the group MORY DUCROS: Lyon agency will be informed of the operational data of a supplier from the database of Perpignan by accessing to the application and vice versa. The whole group of agencies can take advantage of this exchange of information effectively.
Loyalty to the suppliers, security to the customers
Besides its obvious advantage over the competition, QUALIF DIRECT is a security tool for the customers. As a matter of fact, the application reduces the need to use a freight exchange with the risks involved. One of the conditions of the qualification process of the suppliers is the commitment of not subcontracting the loads offered by MORY DUCROS. The goods will be untrusted to qualified professionals.
On the other hand, the application involves loyalty to the suppliers, especially to those working only with some agencies. They will be able to extend their services to the group, saving time to the Dispatching Departments thanks to this application called QUALIF DIRECT.
In the current context of transportation, this ability to foster loyalty to the hauliers is also an added value taking into account the risks of shortage of trucks. “With the decline in the number of vehicles available on the market, this information is more strategic, confirms Grégory Joubert. By being better informed of the different transport options, MORY DUCROS makes the difference against its competitors that do not have the Doc & Data application. The group has understood the importance of this tool as a selling point for their customers. Wtransnet Innovation
Doc & Data is an innovative application of Wtransnet based on a simple and effective idea. But Doc & Data requires an extensive work of qualifying the suppliers. A task that fits all companies although complicated to implement even to big groups. When the purpose is to “sift” about 10.000 European suppliers, the task requires time and people trained to master several foreign languages. Wtransnet is supported by a dedicated internal team of ten people to develop this application. A job that requires method and competence as the first phase of checking data may result in outdated or incomplete databases. When all contacts have been checked and completed with strategic information, each supplier can update its data with a password or by mail. The carrier should do this upgrade to increase its chances of being contacted and carry out its activity.
