The qualification of subcontracted carriers is a key for the competitiveness of large logistics groups

Earlier this year, the conference The efficient multimodal transport in Europe by the FERRMED standards took place at the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels.
In the conference the guidelines for the future of transport in Europe were highlighted: complete a single European market comprising the different transport modalities, the promotion of good practices and a greater deference to the subcontracting operations.

Regarding the last point, since July 2011, Wtransnet collaborates with large European logistics groups which, in line with these objectives, have entrusted to an external company the qualification process of their outsourced carriers.

The Wtransnet division in charge of the qualification process of subcontracted carriers, formed by specialized multilingual staff, is responsible for managing these databases of European carriers, updating information on their fleet, routes, activities, etc. Also, all legally required documentation needed in each country to comply with the new requirements of quality and safety in the supply chain.
This activity is not only necessary to overcome the inspections on ISO, AEO, TAPA norms as well as others, but also ensures the logistics group that the carriers they are working with do not have the documentation expired, preventing stoppages on the roads or problems with the insurances in case of accident.
