WConnecta Barcelona 2014 has just finished as the most international and participatory edition

506 accredited professionals, 5.649 quick interviews, 980 arranged meetings with transport companies offering freights and the representation of 16 countries in Europe and Latin America. These are the figures of the 5th Edition of WConnecta, the International Meeting of Transport Professionals.

Last Friday 14th November, the Wtransnet Foundation faced the challenge of hosting the most participatory and international edition. With the experience gained in the previous 4 editions, this year has resulted a great success of participation breaking records of registered companies and also for having been the most international edition as 43% of the companies came from outside of Spain.
Italy, with 44 representatives, has been the country with the largest presence following Spain accounting for 27% of all international companies, followed by Poland (17,5%), Portugal (15%), France (10,5%) and Germany (8,7%). It should also be pointed out that 42,5% of companies came for the first time.

WConnecta Barcelona 2014 has also been attended, among other official business organisations, by representatives of international transport associations such as A.N.I.T.A (Italy), ANTRAM (Portugal) and ASTIC (Spain).
On this occasion, like in all the previous editions, the leit motiv of WConnecta was none other than contacting the maximum number of companies throughout one morning thanks to the Speed Networking Area. There were 3 rounds of Speed Networking organized by specialities where the participants were faced every 7 minutes by a company complementary to their needs. A place to exchange business cards, to create synergies and to lay the groundwork for future partnerships.
Following the success of the previous edition, the Networking Cargo Area appeared again as one of the highlights of the event: 48 transport companies offering freights could hold private meetings with companies who had previously asked an appointment.
The day was rounded off by the After Work of WConnecta, a moment to toast the agreements and carry out the prize draw of the sponsors among all assistants.
WConnecta is an initiative of the Wtransnet Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to promote a greater competition among transport companies.

«This is a very high level interviewing in a short time. Speed dating is the only way to get this number of contacts in such a small margin of time.»
Mark Hermans (De Jong Expediteurs)

«We take advantage of this event to meet in person to people we are already working with, to meet new people and to talk about the quality of the platform. And, of course, to find new potential partners.»
Sascha Braun (FRIGOSPED GMBH INT. SPEDITION)
